The person behind the work
Meet Duke
Western Colorado roots, a lifelong mechanical streak, and welding experience shaped by real work.

Fruita raised
Hands-on from the beginning.
Duke grew up in Fruita, Colorado, on a farm where there was always something to build, fix, or repair. That environment made mechanical problem-solving part of everyday life long before it became a business.
In high school, he competed in FFA Agricultural Mechanics and placed ninth in the nation as a junior. The contest tests technical knowledge, teamwork, and practical problem-solving across agricultural machinery, structures, electrical systems, and mechanical systems.
Years of hands-on welding and fabrication experience turned that background into a trade. Duke enjoys figuring out the unusual jobs—the ones where the answer has to fit the equipment, property, or way a customer actually works.
His family has deep roots around Grand Mesa, including ancestors among the original settlers of Collbran. Outside the shop, Duke is usually fishing, hunting, off-roading, somewhere on the mountain, or down in Moab.
When you call Duke's Welding & Field Services, you are talking to the person who will think through the job and stand behind the work.
